Connecticut Coastal Communities

Old Lyme, Connecticut is a charming coastal town located on the east bank of the Connecticut River where it meets Long Island Sound. It boasts several seasonal beach communities, including Sound View, Point O’ Woods, Hawk’s Nest, and Miami Beach. These communities come alive during the summer months, attracting visitors and seasonal residents who enjoy the town’s pristine beaches and coastal charm.
As you travel eastward along the Connecticut shoreline, you’ll encounter the town of East Lyme, home to Rocky Neck State Park and its sandy beaches. Further east lies the towns of Groton and Stonington, which features the popular travel destination, Mystic and the picturesque village of Stonington Borough, a historic district with charming shops and restaurants.

Rhode Island Beach Communities

Continuing eastward into Rhode Island, you’ll find the coastal communities of Westerly and Charlestown. Westerly is known for its beautiful beaches, including Misquamicut State Beach and Watch Hill Beach. Charlestown boasts the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge, which encompasses salt marshes, coastal forests, and several miles of undeveloped barrier beaches. The nearby Napatree Point Conservation Area offers miles of unspoiled beaches and dunes.
